The Nursery is set within a large converted house in a lovely area of Aston, creating a warm and friendly environment where your child feels safe and secure. It is a family run business and is managed by a highly competent manager who is local to the area and has many years experience of working within the nursery.
Our Staff Team
At ‘the nursery’ we have an enthusiastic team of Early Years Practitioners who are committed to providing the highest quality care for your children. Our practitioners are selected following a rigorous recruitment process, during which we take into account qualifications, experience and commitment. All practitioners have access to a wide range of training programs throughout the year enabling them to continually build on their skills and knowledge. At ‘the nursery’ we pride ourselves on the high qualifications of our staff team.
Our Day Care Provision
The Nursery has provision for children aged between birth and five years. This includes our baby room (birth to two years), our toddler room (two to three years) and our pre-school room (three to five years). Each room is split into the age ranges as detailed above to ensure that the provision can be closely matched to your child’s interests and stage of development. The Nursery also has a large outdoor area which all of the children access on a daily basis and which gives the children the opportunity to socialise with children of differing ages.
Our Before and After School & Holiday Club Provision
Our service continues after our day care children have left to go to school. At 'the nursery' we work in collaboration with our local schools to support busy working families with our school wraparound care and holiday club. We deliver and collect from local schools in the neighbouring community enabling parents to take up full time employment with the confidence and assurance that their children are cared for safely until the end of the working day. During school holidays, our holiday club organises a range of activities and outings that are both educational and entertaining, embracing our philosophy; 'it's fun to learn'.
Our standard hours are 8 am until 6 pm however, for parents who need to make an early start or require a later finish we offer extended hours to provide day care from 7.00 am until 7.00 pm where needed.
Starting nursery or moving from another setting can be a worrying time for both you and your child. In order to help you feel happy and secure at 'the nursery', our settling in process is flexible to ensure your child’s individual needs are met.
To ensure that parents/carers feel confident that their child is happy and secure at 'the nursery', we provide unlimited and flexible settling in periods designed to meet the individual needs of your child. Practitioners within each room are there to support the settling in sessions and to answer any questions or queries. Practitioners will spend time getting to know you, your child and your family to ensure positive relationships are built right from the very beginning.
Your Key Person
During your settling in sessions at ‘the nursery’ you will be introduced to your child’s key person, who has special responsibilities for working with you and your child and giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for during their time at nursery. Your key person will spend time building a close relationship with you and your child to ensure that they can fully meet your needs. Your key person will also spend a lot of time talking to you and observing your child to find out about their individual interests and will use this information to plan exciting experiences for them each day.
